Position Summary:.

  • The BAS Controls Technician diagnoses and repairs complex electronic control systems with the ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.

  • This position also requires preparing accurate cost estimates, and maintaining and ordering specialized parts from vendors.

  • Creates equipment and floorplan graphics, database generation, commissioning, and as-built drawings.

  • Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site customer interactions.

  • Mentors mechanical technicians on building automation activies.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have training and experience in Building Automation, Digital Direct Controls (DDC) Systems, pneumatic controls, and a high level of computer and software skills.

  • Must possess the ability to assess the operation of mechanical systems from a DDC controls and commissioning perspective.

  • Experience with Johnson, Honeywell, Trane, Novar and similar systems is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Visio desired.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building controls and automation, including troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair, plus 5 years' mechanical HVAC experience.

Required Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

  • EPA Refrigerant handling certification required.

  • Niagara-AX certification desired.

  • OSHA certification a plus.
